"Be cool, because I am cool"

Yet another curiosity to marvel at. I submitted this picture to the folks over at Crumby Church Signs (yes, that is a real web site) but I have to give them the credit for the clever reinterpretation of 1 Peter 1:15-16. "But just as He who called you is cool, so be cool in all you do. For it is written, "Be cool, because I am cool."

This one of the reasons I have no desire to go to church. In another site, people are mocking churches how they are run like businesses and I agree.

They're nothing but a bunch of tax exempt businesses men running them and trying to bring in the people using whatever gimmick it takes.

The Emerging Church movement is very concerning! We are to transform the world not be conformed by the world. It is so sad, and I'm sure it just grieves our Lord.

We don't attend "church" either and this is why. Too bad that they're "too cool" for the rest of us that are saved, know Jesus, and love sound doctrine.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I wrote a post entitled Trendy Pastors that included the cool church. I took quite a bit of flack for it -- especially after Slice of Laodecia picked up the link. On my post, the second pic on the top row is David McAllister, "pastor" of the "Cool Church." Cool lookin', ain't he?!

I'm bookmarking your blog. I have some questions about evangelism, but little time this moring to pursue them. I'll check back later.

Or you could just find a church that doesn't have a goofy sign. I'd suggest a church of Christ. I noticed on Crumby Church signs most of these are Baptist and Methodist. I find that interesting.
